A Journey of Hope and Resilience
Connect Homes Nightmare: Our Story
After years of dedication and trust, I face an unexpected challenge that threatens my dream. Join me in overcoming this adversity.
A Broken Promise, A Vanishing Home—Help Me Rebuild.
Our Story
Three years ago, my wife and I set out to build our dream home—our future, a place where we would put down roots, create memories, and finally have the stability we worked so hard for. We invested everything we had—our savings, our time, and our trust—into a prefabricated home from Connect Homes, a modular home builder that promised a streamlined, modern housing solution.
In 2024, after drawing $364,119 from our construction loan, Connect Homes ceased operations and ultimately filed for bankruptcy, leaving us with a loan to repay, but no home to live in. We were left with a foundation, a driveway, and septic system—but nothing to build on it. We held onto hope, believing the company would make things right, only to be strung along by false assurances until it was too late.
The Reality We Face
Now, instead of preparing to move into our new home, we are facing financial devastation. Our construction loan balance is $489,119, and without a house to complete and refinance, the bank expects us to pay off the entire loan by April 2025—something that is simply impossible under these circumstances.
We have been fighting tirelessly, hiring attorneys, and looking for every possible way to save our land and rebuild. After extensive research, the best way forward is to use our existing foundation and construct a container-based home, which would allow us to finally move onto our property—without wasting more money rebuilding from scratch.
Why We Need Your Help
While we are using our own savings and incoming Autodesk RSUs to fund construction, we are still facing a huge financial gap due to the overwhelming burden left behind by Connect Homes’ collapse. Your support would help us:
✅ Complete a livable home—using an efficient, sustainable container home design that fits the existing foundation.
✅ Offset legal fees—as we continue to fight for accountability and potential financial recovery.
✅ Avoid foreclosure—keeping our 15 acres of land, which is our home and future.
How You Can Help
Any contribution—big or small—gets us one step closer to stabilizing our situation and rebuilding our lives. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with friends, family, and on social media means the world to us.
This isn’t just about a house. It’s about recovering from a betrayal, overcoming impossible odds, and building a future despite the obstacles in our way.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us in any way you can. We are forever grateful.

My Journey of Trust and Loss
For nearly a decade, I poured my heart and savings into a piece of land, envisioning a future home. I entrusted Connect Homes with a $360,000 construction loan, believing they would bring my dream to life. However, their sudden bankruptcy shattered this vision, leaving me with a massive financial burden and no home to show for my efforts.
The Financial Impact
The bankruptcy left me with a $500,000 loan and rising construction costs due to regional disasters. My land, once a symbol of hope, now hangs in the balance as I strive to gather the $450,000 needed to rebuild.
